What is going on???

We are full of hope in our household, but we still see the scary things going on in the world.

We live in uncertain times. Times our grandparents were equipped to deal with but  most of us now are not. History repeats itself we can see the patterns and trace them back through the ages. But unlike in times of old, we as a society have lost the skills our families will need to to survive and thrive in the realities we are facing now.

Things sure seem scary right now, and have for years. They told us pandemics, wars, shortages, school closures, major inflation, and quarantines, were things of the past. Just this year alone we’ve seen

🚨Infrastructure failing

🚨Food shortages

🚨Violence & wars

🚨Quarantines & Mask Mandates

We can be scared, or we can be prepared. We’re no longer in times of plenty. BUT we don’t have to be afraid. 🥺 There ARE things we can do to JOYFULLY teach ourselves and our families the life skills our society has lost. If we know what came before, we know how we can help our children and family navigate times ahead!

Our great grandparents knew this CRUCIAL secret that society has forgotten ⬇️

Children crave “old-fashioned” skills, autonomy, and life lessons that equip them to take charge of the future that lays ahead of them. 💪 They want adventure, and they want to learn to do hard things! And in the times we live in, they NEED to be prepared to do hard things. 🙌 Giving our family the gift of LIFE SKILLS, especially homesteading and wilderness survival skills, has not only given us peace of mind, but made us feel so much closer as a family.

But how do we teach our kids these skills when often they weren’t taught to us? 😭⬇️

It’s time to reclaim the skills of those that came before us and learn as families how to live off the land, and our editions of classic books like Anne of Green Gables and The Swiss Family Robinson are designed to teach your family life skills like how to grow and preserve your own food, raise livestock, find and purify water, cook at home and at camp, how to sew and knit, bake, and more in a fun light hearted and STRESS RELIEVING way which is crucial in the crazy times we live in! AND you can learn right along with them, no previous experience or knowledge required!

How It Works

We take classic books like the Swiss Family Robinson, and annotate them with crucial life skills that match the story and are authentic to the time period.

1. The Classic Story

We start with the classic book, unabridged, and split it into smaller portions to create small wins! Especially for less confident readers.

2. The Life Skills

Every other story chapter, we insert a skills chapter that matches what the character is doing.

EXAMPLE: In The Swiss Family Robinson when Mrs. Robinson makes Portable Soup, the next chapter includes an authentic Portable soup recipe.

3. Create Memories

Previously only available in paperback format, our books (42 and counting) are now available in a monthly digital membership that allows you to download printable pdfs, so you can read, learn, and document your memories all in one place.

Kobe | United States Army

I ordered the entire Swiss Family Robinson series for my daughter! I’ve told all my buddies with kids about these! I’m currently deployed, and I love that it’s a way I can be involved, and that she can learn survival and self sufficiency skills while I’m gone.

Dustin | USMC Veteran

I ordered the first book of the Swiss Family Robinson Series and started reading it to my kids at night. I’ve always wanted to read it and now I have the motivation. I’ve been wanting to get my kids  into learning more about survival/homesteading and I found your books at just the right time. I love the idea of being self sufficient and this is a great way to get my kids involved and interested in the idea.

What do our books teach?

Read below to see what skills our books teach families! Books are organized by year for those using them as a curriculum, but all the books we offer can be enjoyed as a family at any age!

We recommend continuing to re-read the Victory Garden Series every year as there is information that grows with each child as they age.

What could happen if you don't learn these skills?

The events of the last 3 years have woken up even the most prepared of us.

💪It’s shown us where we had holes in our preparedness. Our family too, found skills missing that we had said we’d teach the little ones (or learn ourselves) “later.”

It made us realize that a day could happen when “later” would be too late.

That was a big motivating factor behind creating our books! I created 20 of them in one month, because I knew the little ones in my family NEEDED this info, and they needed it NOW.

As a society it’s SO easy to become complacently reliant on the incredible modern conveniences we have. I’ve been there!

I didn’t grow up with old fashioned life skills like these. I learned how to homestead, live off the land, sew, bake sourdough, raise livestock, garden, and more in adulthood from books and youtube videos. Before I learned these skills I carried with me so much anxiety I didn't even fully realize the magnitude of, because I knew if my luxuries went away tomorrow I wouldn't be ready.

Your children don't have to live in fear of uncertainty, or struggle with the anxiety that comes from feeling dependent.

It's not too late to learn the skills as a family that will help your children become self reliant and experience true confidence!
